Katie and Patrick’s elopement at Chicago’s iconic City Hall was seriously perfect. These two are SO in love and decided they wanted to elope before having a big wedding so they could have this special moment to themselves. After thinking through what they wanted out of their elopement day these two decided to get married on Halloween and dress for the occasion!
These two found me on google, and after my first call with Katie we instantly clicked. I was SO happy to be a part of Katie and Patrick’s intimate elopement day.
For Katie and Patrick’s elopement they opted for a courthouse ceremony at Chicago’s iconic City Hall. The two wanted to celebrate this special moment just as the two of them and that’s exactly what we did. Inside the courthouse Katie and Patrick spent a little time getting ready. Katie put on Patrick’s boutonniere and once everything was just right it was time to sign the paperwork and make it official!
After their paperwork was signed and they were officially married we headed into the halls of Chicago’s City Hall for some photos with the building’s iconic architecture. Katie and Patrick looked stunning in their Halloween themed wedding attire, and surrounded by City Hall’s gorgeous architecture we were able to get some beautiful photos. Now that the two were officially married and we had some photos in and around City Hall it was time to head out and explore the city!
Now that Katie, Patrick and I were out of City Hall and onto the streets of Chicago it was time to celebrate their new elopement with some portraits! Chicago’s City Hall is great because of it’s central location with a ton of cool spots to head to for photos within a short walk. This amount of variety gives you a lot of options for your portrait photos and allows you to have the full Chicago experience while visiting some of it’s most iconic spots. Katie and Patrick were having such a fun time with their elopement that by the time their coverage was up there was still more we all wanted to photograph so they ended up extending their coverage so we could take our time and capture everything they wanted.
More than anything I want you to have a wonderful experience on your wedding day. Before each of my elopements I make sure to talk with my couples and we put together a list of expectations they have for their elopement day.
Prior to Katie and Patricks’ Chicago elopement I made sure to scope out the area around city hall and put together a list of places that we could visit following their ceremony. The central location of City Hall in Chicago makes for such a unique experience for photos in that there are so many jaw dropping spots to visit all within a few blocks of the building.
Together we made a rough plan for their session, what the must have locations were and I scouted out everything else in between.
My elopement package contains 6 hours of coverage for my couples. Typically we will spend a little less than an hour in City Hall exploring the building and getting you married. After your ceremony we spend the rest of the time taking photos, grabbing food and doing anything else you want to include on your elopement day! Some of my favorite spots for photos around City Hall include:
The Front of City Hall
The Riverwalk
Chicago Board of Trade Building
Chicago Theater
North Rose Garden
I was so happy to be a part of Katie and Patrick’s elopement at Chicago’s City Hall. These two have so much love for each other and being able to help capture that throughout their elopement day was truly special. Congrats Katie and Patrick! If you’re looking to schedule an elopement of your own head to my contact page so we can get to planning!
