Your wedding day is one of the most special and important days of your life. It’s a celebration between you and the person you love most in the world that you want to spend the rest of your life with after all. With all that pressure on the day itself it can be hard to keep the most important part of your day in mind, making sure both you and your partner have a wedding day that feels like you! But how exactly do you do that? While the answer’s different for everyone I put together this list of 5 tips to help get you on the right path.
When planning your wedding day, your wedding vendors play a super important part in the way your wedding plays out. You’re going to want to choose vendors that not only fit the feel you’re hoping to have throughout your wedding day, but also vendors that you enjoy working with. Take your time searching for and talking with different wedding vendors to make sure that they’re the right fit for your wedding day. Here are a couple of wedding awesome vendors in the Chicago land area that give an awesome client experience:

One of the best ways to get your wedding day to feel like you is to invite all of your favorite people. It can be tempting to invite a ton of people to your wedding, and if that’s your thing then by all means you should! If you’re on the more lowkey side, or you’re looking for a more intimate day where you can spend more time with all the people you care about, try to condense your invite list. Focus on your must have people, the ones you NEED there to make your big day into the special occasion you deserve.
There are SO many cool ways to customize your wedding day to feel like you. When choosing different things to add to your day go back to the basics and think through what you and your lover enjoy spending your time doing. Love backyard BBQ’s? Cool, bring some yard games to your venue to play with friends and family. Are you super into a specific style of music? Put together a playlist that you and your partner along with your guests will love to listen to all night long. Obsessed with the bakery down the street? See if you can use their baked goods during your reception! Wedding days don’t have to be one thing or another. You can fill your day to the brim with everything you love to make your wedding really feel like you.
This one can seem like it’s easier said than done, but trust me after working in the wedding industry this long, you can do it! You just have to be a little proactive so that when the wedding day arrives you can relax. When planning your day, make sure to set a timeline for when you would like to get everything done. Your friends and family are going to want to help, so ask them for their help! Put someone in charge of different aspects of your day. Ask a few family members to bring the decorations you have from home. Have your siblings take your wedding dress to the dry cleaning the day after the wedding. Having other people helping out and in charge of certain things for your wedding means you’ll feel less stress for you so that you can fully enjoy your special day.
When making your timeline, you might be tempted to fill your day to the brim with activities and things to do. Try to leave some time in your day to just relax and be with your people too. If you can, try to make it to your cocktail hour. Make it a priority to have at least 30 minutes for newly wed photos so you can have some alone time with your love. Give yourself some space to exist and really take in your wedding day. This extra time will let you take in all the moments that have happened and everything that made it feel exactly like YOUR wedding should.
Your wedding is one of the most important and special days of you and your soon to be spouses lives, you should be able to make it feel like the day was made for you! Follow these steps, think about what you both love the most, and try to incorporate that into your wedding day so that it feels like you. Looking for a photographer for your wedding day?
