Sanjeet and Toby created their own unique and special wedding day by combining their own Indian and Christian traditions. Their wedding day was an amazing celebration of their love for one another that embraced their favorite traditions from each of their families. This wedding day was such a unique and cool experience. I feel so honored to have been a part of Sanjeet and Toby’s wedding day!
To start off their wedding day Sanjeet and Toby gathered their closest friends and family for an intimate wedding ceremony on Lake Michigan overlooking the Chicago skyline. They made their ceremony unique from the start by combining a Christian wedding ceremony with traditional Indian wear which made for such an incredible hybrid of traditions! I adore when couples make their wedding day their own and create a day that feels totally personal to them. Sanjeet and Toby exchanged their vows and said I do while their loved ones supported and cheered them on creating such a special moment they’ll remember forever.
Once their Christian wedding ceremony had finished and we got some photos with their families we headed to a nearby park for some couples portraits in their traditional Indian wear. Being able to schedule some alone time on your wedding day is something I HIGHLY recommend. Sanjeet and Toby were able to spend some time enjoying one another’s company and reflecting on their day so far and all of the emotions they were both feeling was such an incredibly special moment and added so much to their experience. We took our time with their couples portraits enjoying the nature surrounding us and the calmness before the celebration that was to come at their reception!
For their reception Sanjeet and Toby chose kibbitznest books, brews & blarney which was the perfect choice for their intimate Christian and Indian hybrid wedding venue. Kibbitznest is a small bookbar in Chicago’s Bucktown/Lincoln Park area with a focus on community and face to face interaction. The space is intimate and cozy making it the ideal location for an intimate wedding reception where the focus is spending time with those you love most. Sanjeet and Toby started off their reception with a cake cutting and a first dance before opening the dance floor to their guests. They capped off their Indian and Christian hybrid wedding in the best way possible, dancing the night away with all of their favorite people!
Sanjeet and Toby seriously couldn’t have created a more perfect and personal wedding day for themselves if they tried. Between the combination of Indian and Christian traditions and the love, support, and excitement from their loved ones they created a wedding day they’ll be able to look back on with love for years and years to come.
