Having the opportunity to document Paula and Elsy’s Chicago restaurant wedding was so special. Last year they asked me to document their proposal and it was such a cool experience to be a part of! Over a year later, they asked me to be a part of their intimate wedding day and it was such a special experience. Since their proposal, I have become great friends with them, which made their wedding day all the more incredible to be a part of.
One of the best parts of having your wedding day in one of Chicago’s many wonderful restaurants is that no matter where you look there is so much character to take portraits around. Prior to Paula & Elsy’s ceremony, we spent some time taking some portraits outside of their venue, Reza’s Lounge. We walked along the alleys and some of the side streets soaking up the beautiful day and taking some wedding day portraits of the two of them. Being able to have this time together as just the two of them was easily a highlight of their Chicago restaurant wedding day. I always recommend my couples schedule some time in their day where the two of them can enjoy themselves and take it all in. Even on an intimate wedding day like Paula and Elsy’s this is SO important and makes the experience just that much better!
Paula and Elsy’s wedding celebrations at Reza’s Lounge were so much fun, both to capture and be a part of! The Chicago restaurant has a lively and colorful atmosphere, perfect for an intimate wedding experience like none other. Colorful murals and a disco ball hanging from the ceiling only begins to describe all the fun decorations they have there. Paula and Elsy said their vows surrounded by their closest friends and family and spent the rest of their time celebrating, dancing, and eating some great food with their favorite people.
I’m so glad to have been a part of Paula and Elsy’s intimate Chicago restaurant wedding day. Photographing their celebration with all of their closest friends and family together was so special and such a great experience.
