Maxine and Alex’s engagement session in Downtown Chicago shows exactly why I LOVE to use Chicago as a backdrop for my engagement sessions. Chicago has this way of making you feel like you have the city to yourself while walking around that is just so magical.
As I mentioned earlier Chicago’s an amazing city and there are so many reasons to choose its downtown as the setting for your engagement session. For starters, there are just so many incredible spots in the city perfect for exploring throughout your session. This makes it SO easy to include multiple locations in your session giving you a few completely different feels. For Maxine and Alex’s session for example we started at the Tribune Tower before making our way to North Avenue Beach for the end of their session. There’s something for everyone in the city so whether you want something natural, rustic, modern, or anything in between, Chicago has plenty of options for you to choose from.
One of the coolest locations in downtown Chicago is the Tribune Tower located on Michigan Avenue and right next to the Chicago River. The incredible architecture of the Windy City is on full display here and with the river right next to it there’s so much to work with during your session. Maxine, Alex and I started this first leg of their engagement session next to Tribune Tower before heading down to the Riverwalk for some photos. The Riverwalk is such a beautiful backdrop for an engagement session and a beloved location for Chicagoans. We made our way back up from the Riverwalk to get some final photos on the busy streets of Chicago to get those true downtown city vibes in their engagement session before heading to North Avenue Beach.
After we finished exploring downtown Chicago Maxine and Alex’s engagement session ended at North Avenue Beach just as the sun began to set! North Avenue Beach is one of the most popular locations in the city, so we were all pleasantly surprised with how few people were actually there as we ended our session. Usually, I recommend a sunrise session at North Avenue Beach since you’ll mostly have the place to yourself, but a sunset session is just as beautiful and as long as you’re fine with some onlookers it’s definitely worth it!
Maxine and Alex had so much fun together during their session, you really could feel the love and pure joy radiating from these two. Engagement sessions are so special as you’re able to capture yourselves and your love as it is now heading into this next journey of life together.
I loved photographing Maxine and Alex’s engagement session in downtown Chicago and am SO happy with how their album came out. These two are so sweet and so much fun to work with, I felt like we were all smiling the entirety of their session and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’re looking to have your engagement session in Chicago and still need a photographer I’d love to be a part of it. Head to my contact page and we can get to planning!
