Joel and Jacqui’s intimate wedding at the Rosehill Community Centre in Washington was so beautiful. When planning their wedding, Joel and Jacqui worked together to infuse both their cultures into their day which made their wedding so special. Rosehill Community Centre is an amazing location and served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.
Prior to their wedding day, Joel and Jacqui began their wedding festivities by practicing Haldi. Haldi is traditionally a Hindu event where turmeric is rubbed on the bride and groom. This cleanses them and rids the couple of evil prior to their wedding day.
Joel and Jacqui had so much fun with their friends and family while practicing this Hindu tradition.
Joel and Jacqui got ready for their intimate Washington wedding day in separate locations with their wedding parties. In the blending of their two cultures they decided to celebrate a traditional Christian wedding ceremony in the morning and an Indian reception at night. Seeing them get ready for their ceremony and all of the anticipation they felt as their ceremony grew near was so sweet.
Their wedding party was their ultimate hype crew, whether they were helping them get ready or just celebrating the two of them throughout the day. Jacqui did a first look with her bridesmaids and Joel brought gifts for his groomsmen. The both had so much fun with their wedding parties getting ready for the rest of the day.
Their Christian wedding ceremony was nothing short of beautiful. Jacqui was walked down the aisle by her father where he then gave her away to Joel. I love the way the two of them mixed their traditions together to create a day that felt like them.
Their Washington wedding venue served as a gorgeous backdrop for their intimate ceremony. The Rosehill Community Centre serves as a beautiful, empty shell for any type of ceremony you hope to host there.
Like I mentioned before, Joel and Jacqui’s wedding party brought SO MUCH ENERGY to the table. Whether they were exchanging different parts of their outfits, or really just hyping up the two of them, their wedding party was a blast. When we began our portraits it was still raining a bit so Joel, Jacqui and I spent some time taking couples portraits under the overhang. After the rain died down, we headed out to the courtyard at the community center to take their wedding party photos.
Merging their cultures together throughout their wedding day was so much fun to witness. Joel and Jacqui started their intimate Washington wedding reception in their traditional Christian wedding attire. They ate, danced together and with family and friends, then did an outfit change to their traditional Hindu wedding attire.
There were so many special moments amongst their family members as they merged together to create one massive family for the two of them.
